Field Initiatives

Work extending midwifery education, research, and cultural knowledge systems

Beyond consulting and education, our work includes initiatives that contribute to the advancement of midwifery as both a professional discipline and a knowledge system. These projects reflect ongoing efforts to expand training pathways, support culturally grounded practices, and strengthen the visibility and sustainability of midwifery across diverse contexts.

Education.

Practice.

Equity. Sovereignty.

A Broader Commitment to the Field

Collectively, these initiatives contribute to the expansion, visibility, and continuity of midwifery knowledge, education, and practice across diverse contexts.

How This Work Advances the Field

Translating strategy into measurable, field-level impact

Education & Learning Spaces

We develop and support accessible learning environments that expand midwifery education through online courses, workshops, and immersive training. These spaces connect practitioners, educators, and communities, strengthening pathways for skill-building, continuing education, and collaborative exchange.

Knowledge Exchange & Collaboration

Our initiatives bring together midwives, researchers, artists, and community leaders across local and international contexts. These collaborations support the sharing of diverse knowledge systems and create spaces where practice, research, and cultural experience inform one another.

Storytelling & Media Documentation

Through film, photography, and multimodal media, we document and share stories that hold the depth and complexity of birth and midwifery. This work bridges research and lived experience, contributing to the visibility of practices and perspectives that resist erasure.

Ancestral Knowledge & Cultural Continuity

We support the recognition and integration of ancestral and traditional midwifery knowledge within contemporary education and practice. This work contributes to the continuity of cultural knowledge systems and approaches to birth that center dignity, autonomy, and community leadership.
